Resume

 Validation Engineer with 5 years of industry experience in thermal imaging and security cameras
 U.S. citizen. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Experience
 Validation Engineer, FLIR Systems, Goleta, CA (Summer 2013 to June 2017)
--Validated and troubleshot software and user experience platforms for many of the most popular FLIR products, including the FC, FB, PT, and TCX-series security thermal network cameras, and the M-series combat-proven marine thermal imager products. FC-ID won 2016 Homeland Security Award, and PT-HD won Security Today's 2017 New Product of the Year Award.
-- Prevented numerous issues from causing potential RMAs by discovering, reporting, and ensuring the bugs were fixed before releasing the product to the public.  Authored internal technical documentations for the factories and support centers, and reviewed user’s manuals for the FC, PB, PT, and TCX-series products. Provided additional field support for issues the support centers could not resolve.
-- Managed communications, new features tracking, and bug reporting with Chinese partners while developing the TCX-series products. Leveraged bilingual Chinese language skill to provide clear instructions, which greatly reduced wasted time and avoided dangerous misunderstandings. The TCX series was awarded the 2015 new product of the year by Security Products Magazine.

 Engineering Consultant, FLIR Systems, Goleta, CA (Winter 2012 to Summer 2013)
-- Developed, debugged and analyzed a variety of image processing algorithms, and created validation test plans and reports for characterizing the performance of such algorithms. The resulting outline overlay algorithm had shipped on many FLIR handheld and UAV products, and the improved de-noising algorithm had improved performance while consuming 50% less resources.
-- Collaborated with Mathworks, a close partner to FLIR, and generated optimized signal processing C and HDL source codes from MATLAB. Carefully evaluated the accuracy and the performance of the generated source code and provided feedback to Mathworks.

 Image Processing Engineering Intern, FLIR Systems, Goleta, CA (Spring 2012 to Winter 2012)
-- Debugged and experimented with de-noising algorithms.
-- Implemented gas (Sulfur Hexafluoride) detection experiment using two thermal cameras. The result became case study for FLIR gas detection product.

 Electronic Engineering Intern, Woodward HRT, Santa Clarita, CA (Summer 2011)
