Mechanical Engineer III

Provide engineering and project management support both onshore and offshore for Oceaneering subsea equipment, primarily related to subsea well stimulation. Used sound engineering judgment and experience to design and modify several tools operating subsea at depths of up to 10,000 ft and 15,000 psi pressure. Familiar with corrosion resistant materials used subsea, high pressure hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Ran FEA and CFD analyses, and instructed other new engineers. Traveled overseas to provide support for other divisions. Managed project budgets exceeding $4M.

Key Contributions:

• Lead engineer for design and engineering of new 15,000 psi rated subsea well stimulation tool, leading a small team of engineers and designers as well as interfacing with other divisions and clients to complete this very high profile project.

• Created several Excel based programs and tools to output commonly requested information. The primary program calculates pressures and flows subsea during well stimulation projects, and has been verified with operational data for accuracy. Software is now used to provide expected performance to clients for upcoming projects, as well as to size pumps on the vessel.

• Primary engineer both onshore and offshore for two subsea well stimulation projects, interfacing with clients, writing and performing test and operational procedures, leading technicians, and operating equipment. All projects successfully completed exceeding client’s expectations, with generated revenue in the $10’s of millions.

• Developed, built, and tested new remotely eject-able subsea junction plate, rated for 15,000 psi and 10,000 ft depth. Provides the option in an emergency to disconnect fluid connection remotely. Has been used to provide the capability to automatically shut client’s tree valves subsea during a well stimulation project in the event of an emergency.



BOISE CASCADE, DENVER, CO 2005 - 2013
Senior Draftsman

Hired to perform drafting duties compiling placement plans for Boise Cascade (BC) customers that convert conventional floor and roof framing material to BCI joists using CAD software. Worked extensively with lumber dealers, contractors, engineers and architects to provide complete commercial and residential framing packages. Assisted on-staff engineer with analyzing and determining the proper method to repair field-damaged structural members, and draw repair details for specific repairs.
